ABOUT

Crow and Hare Pottery

Welcome to Crow and Hare Pottery, a small studio pottery nestled at the bottom of my cottage garden in Kirkcaldy, Fife. This little corner of the world is where I create decorative and functional ceramics inspired by spiritual, seasonal, and cultural traditions — pieces that mark life’s special occasions, rituals, and everyday moments.

A Lifelong Love of Clay

My relationship with clay began when I was 13 years old, during a school art lesson. From the moment I placed my hands in clay, I knew this was what I was meant to do. Like many, my path wasn’t straightforward. Encouraged to follow a more conventional career, I set clay aside for a while — but it never left me.

Eventually, I took a leap of faith, left home, and worked evenings and weekends to pay for my own education. I started as a trainee technician in an art school while studying for my Foundation in Art and Design, and later went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Ceramics from the University of the West of England, graduating in 1995. During my training, I had the privilege of learning from renowned potters such as Walter Keeler, Nick Homoky, and the late Mo Jupp, as well as many visiting ceramicists including Richard Slee and Kate Malone.

Creative Paths and Community Work

In my early years as a ceramicist, I exhibited widely across the UK, working under my own name, Tash Goswami. Life, however, has a way of offering new directions. I transitioned into community and youth arts development, working with a UK-wide charity and later in further education, managing a community arts programme.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with hundreds of young people and adults, helping them explore their creativity. Alongside this, I’ve worked as a freelance artist and illustrator, with my work finding homes around the world.

The Heart of Crow and Hare

Yet, throughout it all, my heart remained with clay. The dream of returning to full-time ceramics never faded — and now it’s finally a reality. Crow and Hare Pottery was born out of that lifelong passion and is a space where craftsmanship, heritage, and storytelling come together through clay.

Every piece I make is handcrafted with care, honouring the traditions that inspire it, while celebrating the unique spirit of each individual item. I believe pottery should be meaningful, made to be held, cherished, and remembered.

Thank you for visiting — I hope you find something here that resonates with your own story.
